Description:
Celebrate Charleston’s rich history with this art print of the iconic Dock Street Theater, located in the historic French Quarter. Originally built in 1736, it was the first building in America designed exclusively for theatrical performances. Though the original structure was lost to the Great Charleston Fire of 1740, the current building rose in 1809 as the Planter’s Hotel, later converted into a theater in 1935. Patrons once included famous figures like actor Junius Brutus Booth, and it’s also the birthplace of Charleston’s legendary Planter’s Punch. This print captures the charm, history, and timeless elegance of one of Charleston’s most treasured landmarks.
